What is travel?

According to the state guidance, travel is defined as outside of the state. However, any travel to public spaces with high rates of infection is what increases risk to our community. If your travel is in the state, but includes public spaces where there are high rates of infection and/or transmission possible, students are strongly encouraged to follow the after-travel protocols.

Protocol for after travel

(This section updated March 1, 2022)

All students and staff should self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms after travel.

The following policy is recommended for students and staff who are fully vaccinated and required for students and staff who are not fully vaccinated:

  • Stay home and self-quarantine for a full 5 days after travel AND get tested with a viral test 5 days after travel. The student or staff member may return to school on the 6th day, if tested negative.
  • If the student or staff member is unable to get tested, they must self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.
