SUMMARY:Extended Essay Workshop for Juniors
DESCRIPTION:There are three on-campus workshops planned for Project Days to help WSA Juniors with their IB Extended Essays or Senior Essays (for those students not submitting Extended Essays to IB) and the college application process. \nThe workshops are required for all juniors\, regardless of their IB submission plans\, on these Project Days: \n\nFriday\, January 16\, 2026 – 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM\nFriday\, February 6\, 2026 – 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM\nFriday\, March 20\, 2026 – 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM\n\nAll workshops will take place in the Conference Room in Baker Hall. Juniors are required to bring their laptops to these workshops. Students who prefer to take notes on research and/or their reading on paper should also bring a journal or composition book. Juniors will conduct research on all three days and will want to record their thoughts and ideas in either digital format or on paper. \nThe January and February workshops will cover the Extended Essay. WSA College Counselor Ashley McWilliams will attend the March workshop\, and the day will be divided between the Extended Essay and the college application process.

SUMMARY:Nordic Winter Dance for Grades 8 - 12
DESCRIPTION:Student Council is hosting a Nordic Winter Dance on Friday\, February 6\, in the WSA Commons from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The dance is for students in Grades 8 -12. \nThis semi-formal evening will be transformed by a Nordic Northern Lights theme. Expect an immersive\, glowing atmosphere inspired by winter skies! \nAdmission is $10 or $5 with a donation of a new winter hat\, pair of mittens\, gloves\, or warm socks. Guests are welcome with a completed guest form\, available at the front desk in Baker Hall. \nParents: Student Council needs your help for the Nordic Winter Dance! \nWhether it be helping with preparations\, decorating\, chaperoning\, or providing finger food snacks. and/or beverages please consider signing up to volunteer: \nNordic Winter Dance Volunteer Form \nThe set-up period for the dance will be from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Adult chaperones for the dance should arrive at 7:00 p.m. and anticipate staying around until roughly 9:00 p.m. Cleanup will be from 9:00 – 10:30 p.m. Thank you!!!
