SUMMARY:PSAT / SAT / Field Trip - Dismiss 11:45 a.m.
DESCRIPTION:All students in Grades 8 – 11 will take the Preliminary SAT (PSAT) on Wednesday\, October 16.  This is a program co-sponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation.  The PSAT is a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT. It also gives students in the 11th grade a chance to enter National Merit scholarship programs. \nThere will be an 11:45 AM DISMISSAL on that day. \nStudents in Grades 6 and 7 will have a half-day field trip. \nSeniors who have pre-registered with Mrs. Freeman have the option to take the SATon October 16.  Seniors who are not taking the SAT have NO SCHOOL and may use it as a study day.

DESCRIPTION:This informational evening is open to any parents and/or 9th-11th grade students who are interested in learning more about the college search\, finance and application process. \nBarrie Hillman\, WSA Head of School\, and Catherine Freeman\, Associate Head of School and WSA College Counselor\, will be sharing guidance and advice on what steps should be taken for the college search\, the process for applications\, how and when to visit schools\, what questions to ask schools\, how to navigate the financial aid process and also how to make the decision of where to apply and where to enroll.  Students are encouraged to attend because they are the ones who will be leading this process!
