West Sound Academy is seeking a School Bus Driver to drive students to and from Port Townsend in a 20-passenger short bus. This position is a split-shift 10-month non-exempt hourly position with accrued personal/sick time of 1 hour per 40 hours worked.

Located in the heart of Kitsap County, on a rural 20-acre campus, the school offers a hands-on and creative curriculum with small class sizes that attracts students from all around the globe to learn and grow together.
Job Summary and Schedule:
The school bus departs the Haines Place Park and Ride in Port Townsend at 7:05 am. The return trip departs the school at 3:00 pm. Additional hours are available for field trip driving, and depending on your skill set and comfort, help with our facilities work as well.
This position reports to the Head of School.
Successful Candidates will have:
- A high school diploma and experience as a licensed driver
- A current driver’s license approved for class school bus vehicles with passenger endorsement. WSA will provide the licensing training required for the right candidate.
- An appreciation for young people and the ability to build rapport with them
- A background check is required through OESD 114 at the candidate’s expense
- Access to a cell phone for email, text, and phone communication
Wage Rate
The hourly rate for this position is from $18 to $22 depending on experience and actual job assignment. Medical, Vision, and Dental benefits are available for full-time employees.
