WSA Thespians & Student Council Ask for Food Donations, not Candy, in October

Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat

By Grace Schmitt ’20 and Phillip Cox ’20

The West Sound Academy Drama Club and Thespian Troupe #8175, in cooperation with WSA Student Council, will be collecting non-perishable food donations for North Kitsap Fishline as part of the Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat (TOTS-Eat) food drive again this year. This is our 5th year participating.

TOTS-Eat is the International Thespian Society’s annual nationwide community service initiative. Since the first campaign in 2003, Thespian troupes have collected and distributed over 4 million pounds of food to help their neighbors in need.

Boxes will be set up in Baker, Ryan, Parke and Frodel Halls for easy drop off of food donations!

You will also be able to earn a discount on your ticket to the WSA Halloween Dance on October 25 by bringing canned goods to the event!

According to Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States, at least 15.9 million children are suffering from hunger nationwide. Regardless of where you live, hunger affects you and your community.

Our neighbors need our help.

Thousands of students across the United States are working together to collect 400,000 pounds of food during this year’s campaign. All donations help people locally and your support goes a long way to help eliminate hunger in our community.
