The Making and Meaning of Movies

Instructor(s): Forrest Kenworthy

Half-Day

Film projector (chromolitho) - Britannica ImageQuest

Do you enjoy watching and discussing movies?  Join us for an immersive and interactive two-week exploration of film and film criticism. This engaging course, led by Forrest, combines the power of storytelling with critical analysis to deepen the way we interact with cinematic productions. Each day, we will gather to watch carefully selected films from a variety of genres and time periods. Discussions will encourage students to analyze, question, and draw connections between the films, broader topics, and their own experiences. Through this dynamic blend of film viewing and interactive dialogue, students will develop a keener appreciation of the films themselves and the practice of film criticism. The content of the film may be for a more advanced audience so parent permission is required for 6th and 7th grade students.
